Stop Motion Studio for iOS

Shoot Your Movie

Image Format and Quality

You can change the picture quality with resolutions up to 4K UHDTV. However, choosing the right quality is always a choice between using less storage space or getting a better picture quality. A higher resolution, such as 4K, will dramatically increase the image quality, but will also significantly increase the project size. Note that changing the project quality does not affect images that have already been captured.

  1. While in the movie editor, tap the Project Settings button .
  2. Tap 4K to change the project quality.
    • Select SD to save space on the device by lowering the quality and resolution of the images captured.
    • Select HD for regular HD quality.
    • Select HQ for high-quality HD. The project size will increase.
    • Select 4K for Ultra High Definition with four times the resolution of Full HD. This is the best quality but will increase the project size significantly.
    • Select 4K+ to store the original camera image in addition to the 4K - UHD image.
  3. Tap Done to close the project settings.

When using 4K+, Stop Motion Studio saves the original camera image along with the frame. This is useful if you plan to export all frames for post-production. The project size will increase significantly. Please note that using an uncompressed format such as PNG, TIFF, RAW, or AppleProRAW will significantly increase the project size.

To change the image format, go to the application settings and select Image Format. Changing the image format will not affect images that have already been captured.
